Nick Partenope came into the day nine out of ten players in chips, and was almost always the smallest stack in the field. He managed to jump a handful of spots with some stellar patience and play. His hand versus Truong would cripple him, but only for a moment. He would rebuild to 2,500,000 at the peak, but got it in with K 9 (with 1,000,000 left), and was dominated by the K J of Jeff Wicker.
