Big Stax 300: Stormin' Norman
While players were on break, a crowd began to gather around Table 66. We walked over to the table to see the board:
The pot was about 100,000, and Norman Rogers was facing a 76,000 bet on the river from his opponent. Rogers was sitting on about 230,000 to start the hand, and would be taking a huge hit if he called an lost. Norman tanked for about 7-8 minutes and finally decided to make the call. His opponent muttered, "Queen high." Rogers flipped over 10♥ 6♠, making a huge call and taking down a very sizable pot.

Players will be going on their final (15) break of the day at the conclusion of this level (2 minutes). When they return to Level 15 the blinds will be 2,000/4,000/500, and the day will end after two more levels.

We walked up to Table 67 as Asher Conniff three-bet an opening raise to 18,300. When it was Matt Macaroni's action, he four-bet to 42,000. The action folded back around to Conniff, and he five-bet all-in, covering Matt's 120,000 stack. Asher held AA and would be up against the 10 10 of Macaroni. The board would run out clean for Conniff, and he propels himself to top five in the room with 390,000.

Wooyang Lin (Morristown, NJ) uses a miniature boxing glove as his card protector, possibly to knock opponents out (I know....terrible). He's in the back corner of the room, and has been overlooked when mentioning the chip leaders. Lin is one of a handful of players over the 300,000 mark (360,000), and hopes to bag a solid number going into Day 2. Lin has over $360,000 in career earnings, but is looking for his third recorded win (Lin's last win coming in 2005).
