Big Stax 300 (Day 1B): Twitter Verse

Level 2 - Blinds 75/150

Big Stax 300 (Day 1B): Blinds Up

Level 2 has just started, with the blinds going up to 75/150.  The room is quickly filling up, as another sizable Day 1 is expected this afternoon.

Big Stax 300 (Day 1B): Early Risers Taking Their Seats

Level 1 - Blinds 50/100

It's early (for poker players), but many familiar faces have already taken their seats in the clubhouse room.  Jason Rivkin (Eatontown, NJ) is the defending champ when it comes to this event, taking home $73,161 and the trophy, after beating Bryan Hayes heads up.  It was a marathon heads up match, ending just past 9:00am, after 17 hours of play.  Rivkin has seemingly taken that momentum from the win and ran with it, making five more final tables in the next two months (and winning the $450 H.O.R.S.E. at the Borgata Spring Open).

Also in the field:

Amanda Musumeci
Larry Kolk
Paul Spitzberg
Joe Reddick
Joe Spillane
Nancy Martin
Brian Lemke

Big Stax 300 (Day 1B): Underway Shortly

The second installment of Day 1's begins in only a few minutes.  Once players take their seats and the cards are in the air, we will bring you the notables in the field.

Big Stax 300: Final Hands Of The Night

Level 16 - 2,500/5,000/500

With (10) minutes remaining in the final level, the tournament floor has stopped the clock, and player will play three more hands before bagging.

Once the chips are bagged, and the numbers are verified, we will post the end of Day 1A chip counts.

Big Stax 300: Table Of Doom

Level 16 - Blinds 2,500/5,000/500

Pofuk Ying (Highland Park, NJ) has a difficult task ahead of him, as he sat down at Table 62 up against the likes of Bowker, Siegal, and Wexler (all with stacks over 250,000).  Ying came to the table with just around 120,000, but has navigated his way through the tables and now sits with close to 400,000.  Ying has eight lifetime cashes for just under $70,000, but those all came at the Borgata.  Ying will look to cash for the first time outside of that casino in a recorded tournament.

Big Stax 300: Last Level Of The Night

Blinds are increasing to 2,500/5,000/500 in Level 16, and this will be the last 45 minutes before players bag their chips and end the night.

Big Stax 300: Leo's Last Act

Level 15 - Blinds 2,000/4,000/500

Leonardo Palermo open shoved his last 77,000 UTG+2, and watched as it folded around the table.  The action folded to the small blind (Stephanie Hubbard) who snap called, and the hands would be tabled:

Palermo: 9♠ 9♥          Hubbard: A♠ A♦

Flop: 9♥ 2♠ 7♠

Turn: K♠

River: 5♠

Palermo comes from behind, but watches as the tables turn on the river giving Hubbard the hand.  Stephanie had played short for most of the day, but has patiently built her stack to over 200,000.

Big Stax 300: Room Quieting Down

Level 15 - 2,000/4,000/500

Only six tables now remain in the clubhouse room (with 54 players), and it's pretty tranquil compared to earlier in the day.  Conniff still sits as the chip leader among the group with over 420,000.  Our earlier chip leader Ross Gottleib has trended slightly downward since coming back from break, but sits very healthy (370,000).
